Our strongest endorsement for Daniel Sidis. He provided great conversation and historical background for all the places we visited. The tour around Cape Town took us through the Dutch, British, Apartheid and post-Apartheid eras. The trip to Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point was equally interesting. All the sites were truly stunning, but Daniel made them interesting AND fun too. Timely, polite and clean transport to boot. He’s also a remarkable fount of wine, food, music and SA history lit knowledge. He also had a great rapport with our two children (13 and 9 years of age). Overall, a fantastic tour guide with deep knowledge of the area with historical and cultural context. He’ll make your visit interesting and fun

We highly recommend Daniel Sidis and Guide Me Capetown. Daniel accompanied us for a little over a week as we traveled throughout South Africa. His expertise added to our overall experience and appreciation of the county. He took into account our interests and wants and helped to arrange an itinerary that far exceeded our expectations. He helped us to arrange for transfers and dinner reservations, which can be tricky if you are traveling without a working cellphone. His knowledge of the country and its history was incredible – he is able to freely speak intelligently on South African History, wine, politics, culture, geography, nature (including wild life, plants, birds, flora, etc.), and local food. As another reviewer mentioned, it was eye opening to learn first-hand about the Apartheid era and the changes since the early 1990’s. We had no need to have any other travel guide as he filled the rolls of driver, nature guide, wine country escort and encyclopedia. He does a great job of working to figure out what would make your trip complete based on your particular interests. Daniel went out of his way on a number of occasions to accommodate our needs and interests and often suggested extra special events into our days after getting to know us a bit better. Overall, Daniel is a fantastic guy, who is great to spend some time with on your vacation. He will without hesitation work to make your trip one you will never forget.

We found Daniel Sidis and Guide Me Capetown through some South African ex-pats. Several months before our trip, Daniel proposed an itinerary and arranged transfers and additional tours.

He is an excellent guide. We spent four days seeing Capetown, Wine Country, the Cape of Good Hope and local sites. He is incredibly knowledgeable about South African History, politics, culture, geography, nature (plants, flora, etc), and local food. It was eye opening to learn first hand about the Apartheid era and the changes since the early 1990s.

Daniel escorts you in a Hyundai mini-bus – that is quite comfortable. He always has water stocked, and uses a headset so those in the back can hear just as well. He is incredibly interactive.

We travelled with 2 young children (ages 6 and 10). After arrival, Daniel was able to sense some of my kids interests and needs and even changed the itinerary around to suit us. And even when it felt as we got him off his schedule, he still seemed to make things work.

He has a great knack for restaurants as well. We were most impressed with the food in South Africa, and Daniel picked some great little restaurants to eat (Cafe Paradiso – which has a great buffet of local cuisine was perhaps my favorite for food and location)

Finally, we had one day where I wanted to see something different than the rest of our group – he was able to accommodate us – dropping my daughter and I at one museum while escorting the rest of our group around the Botanical gardens – and then picking us up to rejoin him.

I would highly recommend him for your tour – his preparation makes a trip to Capetown so easy.

Run don’t walk to take a tour with Daniel, Guide Me Cape Town.

Better yet, just have him greet you at the airport to start your tour immediately. My husband and I had a phenomenal three days with Daniel while he showed us around. What made the tour with Daniel so special?

First, he is just one sincere, nice guy and a fun delight to hang with.

Second, he is incredibly knowledgeable about everything. When we went to the Kirstenbosch National Botanic Gardens, he could tell us names and histories of plants. He even taught us about items in the gift shop like the Mandela necklace. When we went to restaurants, he taught us about the food and history such as at the Rhodes Memorial Tea Garden/Restaurant. He also made excellent dining recommendations. When we went to Table Mountain on the cable car, he told us about the flora, fauna, history, and weather of the area. A week later on our flight home, I watched a South African movie which included a view of Table mountain with the meaningful ‘table cloth’. I would not have noticed this in the movie if it hadn’t been for Daniel showing it to me on our tour. He did a superb job of strategically timing and scheduling sites.

Daniel went out of his way to accommodate our needs and interests by adding extra special events into our days. We are golfers so he took us to the beautiful Ernie Els vineyard, and as music buffs he drove us to a record store on our quest, searching for Sugar Man. He puts his heart and soul into his tours, but he also enjoys interacting with his clients and making them feel valued.

Daniel shows a passion for tour guiding and for ‘everything Cape Town’.
Thank you, Daniel.

In 2014, my husband, friend and I spent three weeks traveling throughout South Africa with Daniel as our guide and driver. Immediately, it seemed like we were traveling with a good friend who knew all the good places to eat and sleep, as well as where we could view wildlife and flowers. Daniel’s knowledge of the natural history was outstanding, but we also gained a tremendous understanding of the complex political situation. Daniel is an excellent driver, a conscientious guide, fun to be with, and provided us with an experience of a lifetime – one that we could not have experienced had we done it alone. He also has extensive knowledge of history, music and wine!

In November 2013 we had Daniel Sidis of Guide Me Cape Town take us on a one day private tour of the Cape Peninsula. We were very pleased with the day. Daniel himself is very knowledgeable and conveys the information such that there is not too much but not too little. He also has a very pleasant manner, a good sense of humour and was flexible about making changes. His vehicle, a minibus was perfect. Another highlight was the lovely restaurant where we stopped for lunch.
